Accurate diagnosis is critical to treating any health condition, and cardiac care is no exception. If you are having chest pains or other symptoms, your physician may order tests to confirm - or rule out - a heart condition. Highly trained staff members conduct these specialized diagnostic tests in a convenient, accessible location on the Hospital campus. And, you can be confident knowing the Hospital's Emergency Department and other acute cardiac services are close by for support.

Thanks to advances in medicine, diagnostic testing today covers a variety of tests with detailed information usually available within a short period of time. These tests may include walking on a treadmill, taking medications to test the heart's function, using noninvasive ultrasound to view the heart's structure or inserting a scope to view inside the body.
Your physician determines the right tests for you. Some tests may require you not eat, drink or take your regular medications. You will be advised of any special instructions when your test is scheduled.
Note: Your physician must review all test results and other diagnostic information so you can receive the most comprehensive diagnosis and recommendations. The technician performing the test cannot give you results. |
