More and more healthcare tests are available on an outpatient basis. At North Kansas City Hospital, we make testing as easy as possible for you. Our Health Services Pavilion is the location for many departments that do extensive outpatient testing. The convenience of testing in one primary location along with close, covered parking gets you in and out as quickly as possible.

Cardiology/Neurology

  • An accurate diagnosis is critical to treating any health condition. The Hospital's Cardiology Department gained notoriety as one of the first in Kansas City to obtain real-time, three-dimensional images of the heart using 3-D Echo technology.

  • This innovative procedure helps cardiologists view 3-D images of the heart instantaneously, as if they were holding the heart in their hands, which leads to a better diagnosis.

  • Other cardiology testing includes: echocardiograms, stress echos, transesophageal echocardiograms, electrocardiograms (ECG, EKG), treadmill stress tests, nuclear stress myocardial perfusion testing and Holter monitoring.

Radiology

  • The Hospital brought the advanced diagnostic capabilities of a 64-slice CT scanner to the Northland area. This technology provides exceptional image quality and assists with a better diagnosis and ultimately the chance of a quicker recovery. It also can capture images for diagnosing heart conditions.

  • Digital Mammography and Stereotactic Needle Biopsy – Finding and treating breast cancer in the earliest stages can mean the difference between life and death. The addition of digital mammography and stereotactic needle biopsy give physicians the tools to diagnose breast cancer earlier in women. Digital mammography provides superior image quality to help identify areas of concern. If a digital mammogram does identify a suspicious area, a stereotactic needle biopsy allows the physician to obtain a breast biopsy without open surgery. The patient experiences less pain, scarring and quicker recovery.

  • PET/CT Scanner – This highly technical equipment helps clinicians in the area of cancer treatment. It can distinguish otherwise invisible tumors, determine whether a tumor is malignant (cancerous) and monitor the progress of cancer treatments.

  • Other sophisticated diagnostic technology includes MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), traditional CT scanning, ultrasound imaging capabilities and nuclear medicine testing with radioactive isotopes.
