North Kansas City Hospital provides a full continuum of care from the highest level of neonatal intensive care to award-winning cardiovascular and orthopedic programs to home health and hospice. North Kansas City Hospital is the only hospital in Missouri and one of only 13 hospitals in the country to receive the Mission: Lifeline Heart Attack Receiving Center accreditation from the American Heart Association. In addition, the Hospital is an accredited Cycle III Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, a major trauma center and has one of the busiest adult/pediatric Emergency Departments in Kansas City.
The Joint Commission
North Kansas City Hospital ranks among the best in the nation, according to The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission officials remarked, “North Kansas City Hospital is an excellent hospital. A warm and friendly place full of employees deeply dedicated to quality care.”
ACTION Registry - Get With The Guidelines
The Hospital has received the American College of Cardiology Foundation’s ACTION Registry – Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2013.
To receive the ACTION Registry – GWTG gold award, the Hospital consistently followed the treatment guidelines outlined by the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association for eight consecutive quarters. The Hospital also met a performance standard of 85 percent for specific measures, including drug safety and overall quality of care.
Blue Distinction Award
Blue Distinction Centers for Cardiac Care® have demonstrated their commitment to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for cardiac patients. Each facility meets stringent clinical criteria, developed in collaboration with expert physicians' and medical organizations recommendations, including the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). North Kansas City Hospital is the only Northland hospital to achieve this distinction.

The Hospital was recognized as one of the nation's top-performing hospitals because of our dedication to patient safety.
Most Wired Hospital
The Hospital has been recognized as one of the nation's Most Wired in 2012 in the Most Improved category. We're focused on providing high quality patient care and safety through technology to help improve efficiency.
National Award for Diabetes Educators
The Kansas City Regional Association of Diabetes Educators (KCRADE) received the national award for 2009 Chapter of the Year. This national group guides the professional of diabetes educators to promote healthy living and self-management for all people with diabetes and related conditions. KCRADE was created more than 20 years ago.
National Medal of Honor
North Kansas City Hospital has earned the National Medal of Honor for several years for achieving a 75 percent or higher organ donation rate among eligible donors for a 12-month reporting period. North Kansas City Hospital is one of the top hospitals throughout Kansas and Missouri for organ donation.
National Quality Award, Respiratory Care
North Kansas City Hospital has again earned the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) award for the eighth consecutive year. The award is part of a national program aimed at helping patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of respiratory care services available in hospitals.
North Kansas City Hospital is one of only 700 hospitals out of 5,000 in the United States that received the award.
Named 2013 Top 500 Agency, HomeCare Elite™
The HomeCare Elite™ is the definitive compilation of the most successful Medicare-certified home health care providers in the U.S. This review recognizes the Top 25 percent of agencies based on an analysis of quality outcomes, quality improvement, and financial performance.
The data used for this analysis was compiled from publicly available information. The HomeCare Elite is the only performance recognition of its kind and is brought to the industry by OCS HomeCare, the leading provider of healthcare informatics, and DecisionHealth, publisher of homecare's most respected independent newsletter, Home Health Line.
The Hospital received a medication reconciliation award from Primaris, the quality improvement organiztion of Missouri, for its improved medication reconciliation process resulting in a much-improved discharge plan for our patients.
Kansas City Hospital's cancer program is nationally recognized and accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons (COC). Patients who receive care in a COC program are ensured access to quality care close to home; comprehensive care offering state-of-the-art services and equipment; a multi-specialty team approach to coordinate the best treatment options; information about cancer clinical trials; education and support; lifelong patient follow-up through a cancer registry; and ongoing monitoring and improvement of care.
To receive COC accreditation, facilities undergo a rigorous evaluation process and performance review with an on-site review every three years to maintain approval.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Program
Cardiac Rehabilitation is a nationally accredited program as certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Cycle 3 Chest Pain Center
After an extensive on-site survey, the Society of Chest Pain Centers has granted North Kansas City Hospital the prestigious Cycle 3 accreditation as an approved Chest Pain Center. Of the 3000+ chest pain facilities in the U.S., only 800 are approved Chest Pain Centers. North Kansas City Hospital remains the only Northland hospital with this honor.
Mission: Lifeline® Heart Attack Receiving Center
The Hospital has been named one of only 13 hospitals in the country and the only hospital in Missouri to receive the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® Heart Attack Receiving Center Accreditation. Our Chest Pain Center consistently exceeds the national and state averages for quick response in getting heart attack patients to treatment.
Wound Healing Center
North Kansas City Hospital's Wound Healing Center is one of only 14 facilities in the country with accreditation by the Undersea Hyperbaric Medical Society, Inc., the recognized authority in the field of hyperbaric medicine.
