Hospital Recognized as a Great Community Hospital
North Kansas City Hospital is proud to be named one of the nation’s 100 Great Community Hospitals by Becker’s Hospital Review. The Great Community Hospital designation is awarded after extensive review of data from industry sources including iVantage Health Analytics, Thomson Reuters, HealthGrades and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Community hospitals, like North Kansas City Hospital, are a critical component to the American healthcare continuum. The Hospital is the anchor of health and employment in the Northland, providing patients with top-quality care close to home. North Kansas City Hospital has demonstrated commitment to the health of our community through clinical excellence, community involvement and other efforts. To be eligible for this award, hospitals must have fewer than 550 patient beds with minimal teaching programs.
Founded in 1958 as an 80-bed community hospital, North Kansas City Hospital continues to expand to meet the needs of its growing community. North Kansas City Hospital's spine surgical services are among the top five percent in the nation, according to HealthGrades, the leading firm in independent healthcare ratings. In 2012, the Hospital has also received recognition for its patient safety, emergency medicine and pulmonary care excellence from HealthGrades.
