Kansas City Medical Society Honors Michael Montgomery, MD With Lifetime Achievement Award

Michael Montgomery, MD, chairperson of North Kansas City Hospital’s Board of Trustees and interventional cardiologist with Meritas Health Cardiology, received the Kansas City Medical Society’s (KCMS) 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award during the society’s annual banquet on Oct. 21 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

“Dr. Montgomery has shown extraordinary leadership,” said Peggy Schmitt, president and CEO of North Kansas City Hospital. “His contributions to the clinical practice of cardiology, to our hospital and to our community have been transformative and it is wonderful to see him recognized with this award.”

Dr. Montgomery was selected for his background, experience, education and contributions to the field of medicine and the community.

“Dr. Montgomery is an inspiration to all physicians. His commitment to the highest quality of care, compassion for his patients, leadership in healthcare and genuine concern for his community are each deserving of the highest accolades. That he has excelled in all of these areas is truly impressive. The Kansas City Medical Society is proud to recognize him with this award,” said Michael O’Dell, KCMS president.
