CIFCThis year's Chip In For Charity recipients have been selected. Here's some information about each:

Cornerstones of Care
Cornerstones of Care believes that by strengthening children and families, we can create a stronger community. As Kansas City’s largest provider of preventative treatment and social services for children and families, our services help children and families achieve health, happiness, confidence, competence and self-sufficiency. Formed in 1998, the organization unites the work of Gillis, Marillac, Ozanam, Spofford and Healthy Families programming.

MetroCARE
MetroCARE is a network of 780 physicians who volunteer to provide medical care to uninsured people within their own offices. Referrals rotate among physicians to maintain a balanced distribution of patients, and each practice determines the number of patients their physicians see each year. Our referral system and extensive care coordination minimize costs and maximize effectiveness of providing care.

Northland Childhood Hunger Initiative
The Northland Childhood Hunger Initiative began in 2009 as a partnership with the Northland Community Foundation and Harvesters. The group exists to expand Harvesters BackSnack program. Currently, 3,900 Northland children are deemed “food insecure”, meaning financial pressures in the home result in a lack of nutritional food availability. While school programs assist before and during school, weekends are the challenge.
