Shared Governance and Nurse Satisfaction

At North Kansas City Hospital, we’re proud to have some of the highest RN satisfaction scores in the country (National NDNQI RN satisfaction survey, 2013). Here, all nurses participate in Shared Governance at the hospital or unit level. Nurses establish practice standards, update clinical policies, participate in nursing research, and ensure quality patient outcomes and high RN satisfaction.

Career Development and Leadership Skills

Our Career Advancement Ladder rewards direct care nurses for achieving professional milestones, and our Leadership Development Programs help nurses learn the skills needed for today’s rapidly changing environment.

Nursing Research

The Office of Clinical Nursing Research mentors and supports nurses to understand and conduct professional research and contribute new knowledge to the profession of nursing. Our nurses also have opportunities to engage in evidence-based practice projects that improve patient care.

Continuing Education and National Certification

We recognize that education is vital to a nurse’s continued success, and offer tuition discounts for on-campus RN to BSN and MSN programs. Tuition reimbursement is available for continuing education, as well as for specialty nursing certifications.
