As a new nurse, you will have the unique opportunity to participate in the following programs:

New Graduate Nurse Residency Program

Our Nurse Residency Program will help you gain the confidence and skills to successfully transition to professional nursing. Each graduate nurse receives orientation that combines classroom and hands-on experience for 12-16 weeks, depending on unit assignment.

During this program, you’ll be supported by preceptors, nurse educators and your nurse manager. You’ll also receive regular feedback and ideas to help you enhance your success.

Nursing Fellowship Program

North Kansas City Hospital’s Nursing Fellowship Program gives graduate nurses the opportunity to advance and refine their skills through a combination of classroom instruction and clinical experience. Nurses who are accepted into this program must work at North Kansas City Hospital for a year. Upon completion of the Nursing Fellowship Program, participants can obtain ACLS certification and apply for available positions in their assigned unit.

Nursing Fellowships are offered in the areas of:

“I love that our management team constantly strives to give us all the tools we need to succeed. The hospital is very committed to creating an environment that makes it easier for us to give our patients great care. You will not find a healthcare provider more dedicated to the success of its nurses, and because of that I have encouraged many people to consider working here.”
