North Kansas City Internal Medicine is one of ten primary care practices owned by Meritas.
North Kansas City Internal Medicine/Meritas Health is seeking a BC/BE Internist to join its group of 9 Internal Medicine physicians in treating a wide variety of patients in the office and hospital settings. Position can be structure to be outpatient only, or both in and outpatient.
LOCATION:
North Kansas City Internal Medicine is located on the campus of NorthKansas CityHospital giving the physicians quick access to the hospital and its services. The location also provides easy access to the Kansas CityInternationalAirport and downtown Kansas City attractions. The metropolitan Kansas City area offers one of the lowest costs of living in the United States. It is a city with many galleries, parks, sporting events, theaters and the other amenities of a larger city, but one which has retained its Midwestern family-oriented culture.
OPERATIONS:
The practice consists of 28 exam rooms, a full service laboratory, radiology, and DEXA scan, and includes a procedure room for stress treadmills and sigmoidoscopes. The physicians only admit to NorthKansas CityHospital. On-call duty is distributed evenly among the physicians. Weeknight call rotates through the physicians. Three weekend call physicians provide hospital rounds from Friday evening until early Monday morning and each of these physicians takes a shift answering pager calls.
The patient mix is typical of a mature, internal medicine practice. Payer mix is 66% Medicare, 11% Commercial, 17% HMO/PPO, 5% Blue Cross and 1% Medicaid.
