Honors and Awards

National and local organizations recently recognized North Kansas City Hospital and some of its physicians and staff.

Achievement in Cardiac Care

The hospital received the American College of Cardiology Foundation’s 2016 ACTION Registry – Get With The Guidelines Platinum Performance Achievement Award for following American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association treatment guidelines for eight consecutive quarters and by achieving a 90% performance standard for specific measures, including drug safety and overall quality of care. NKCH is one of only 193 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor. The award recognizes NKCH’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients and signifies that NKCH has achieved an aggressive goal of treating these patients to standard levels of care as outlined by the ACC/AHA clinical guidelines and recommendations.

Top Information Officers

Becker’s Healthcare presented its first edition of 100 Community Hospital CIOs to Know, and NKCH Vice President and CIO Doug Abel and Chief Medical Information Officer Todd J. Beardman, MD, were among only three selected from the Kansas City area. They were chosen because of “the outstanding recognitions they've earned and exciting new projects they're piloting.”

Home Health Patient Satisfaction

Strategic Healthcare Programs recognized NKCH’s Home Health department as a 2016 Premier Performer. As a Best Home Health Patient Satisfaction Award winner, the department was recognized for being among the top 5% nationwide in overall patient outcomes and patient satisfaction scores.
