Sarah Hon, DO Receives Alumni Honor For Achievement
Sarah Hon, DO with Meritas Health Neurology, and an alumna of William Jewell College was honored at the college’s 71st annual Achievement Day event in March. The Citation for Achievement is the highest honor given to alumni who have made significant contributions to their professions.
Dr. Hon has practiced medicine for 17 years. She is the clinical associate professor and chair of the neurology division at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCUMB) and the clinical associate professor in the neurology department at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with honors from William Jewell. She graduated summa cum laude from KCUMB and completed her internship in internal medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital and Truman Medical Center. She finished her neurology residency at the University of Kansas, where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Hon chairs the North Kansas City Hospital Medicine Advisory Committee, serves on the Medical Executive Committee and is the former chair of the Department of Medicine at NKCH. She is a board member of the Greater Kansas City Osteopathic Medical Society and a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Medical Association. She founded New Song Church with her husband, Rev. Jeffrey Hon.
