NKCH Receives Two Awards for Cardiac Care
North Kansas City Hospital received the American College of Cardiology’s 2015 NCDR ACTION Registry – GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award. NKCH is one of only 319 hospitals nationwide honored for implementing high standards for ST-Elevated Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) and Non-ST-Elevated Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI). NKCH has also earned the 2015 Mission: Lifeline® Silver Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment for patients who suffer a STEMI.
To earn the Action Registry award, NKCH consistently followed the ACTION Registry–GWTG Premier treatment guidelines for eight consecutive quarters and met a performance standard of 90 percent for specific performance measures. The registry engages hospitals in a robust quality improvement process that uses data to drive improvements based on guideline recommendations and overall quality of care provided to STEMI and NSTEMI patients
