Kujath Receives the 2015 Patient & Community Advocate Award
Scott Kujath, MD, FACS, received the 2015 Patient & Community Advocate Award from the Kansas City Medical Society. Dr. Kujath is a board-certified vascular surgeon with the Midwest Aortic & Vascular Institute, formerly Kansas City Vascular, P.C., and is involved in community service activities and overseas medical missions.
In the Kansas City community, Dr. Kujath serves as medical director and board chairman of Mission of Hope Clinic, an organization that provides medical and dental care to uninsured individuals through volunteer physicians and dentists. Dr. Kujath also serves as a board member of MetroCARE of Greater Kansas City, a referral network that connects low-income, uninsured Kansas City residents with donated specialty medical care.
Additionally, Dr. Kujath travels to Kenya each year to work in a hospice as part of Living Room Ministries International, an organization for which he is also the treasurer. He also travels to Harmons, Jamaica, every few years as part of a team that provides basic medical care in rural communities.

Dr. Kujath received his medical degree and completed his surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He fellowship trained in vascular surgery at the University of Tennessee-Memphis and has additional specialization in hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Dr. Kujath is chairman of the Department of Surgery at North Kansas City Hospital and is a clinical associate professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the University of Kansas and Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Kansas City Medical Society board of directors.
