We’re expecting! Storkbytes Delivers New Technology
Storkbytes, a year-long initiative, brings new technology to physicians and staff on Mother/Baby, NICU and Labor/Delivery units with the use of Power Chart Maternity, Fetalink and Surginet. Physicians who will use the new program include pediatricians, OB/GYN, neonatologists, perinatologists, anesthesiologists and family physicians who see infants on campus.
Todd Beardman, MD, CMIO and lead physician in the StorkBytes initiative welcomes the technology as it will provide:
- Digital communication with nurses and clinical support staff
- Remote access to labor tracing/strips via a mobile device
- Note automation and automated reports
- Improved efficiencies
- Mother-baby chart links
- Tracking board
- Improved productivity
- Full delivery notes
- Baby charts auto populate with Mother information
- Reduced transcription errors
- Increased patient safety
“We estimate that this new technology will help physicians be more efficient and contribute to increased patient safety. We are excited about the new capabilities and returning time to physicians,” said Dr. Beardman.
Training begins in December; watch for emails. Go-live is January 9, 2017.
