Dr. Allen, Meritas Health Cardiology, and staff from North Kansas City Hospital participated in a health fair, which gave community members the opportunity to have their blood pressure, blood sugar, body mass index, cholesterol, lipids and waist circumference checked.
Dr. Chapman, Meritas Health Cardiology, described a new treatment option for AFib, called WATCHMANTM, to St. Joseph Medical Center nursing staff. This minimally invasive procedure reduces AFib-related stroke risk and eliminates the need anticoagulants.
Dr. Cramer, Meritas Health Landmark at Tiffany Springs, and staff from North Kansas City Hospital participated in a health fair, which gave community members the opportunity to have their blood pressure, blood sugar, body mass index, cholesterol, lipids and waist circumference checked.
Dr. Maruthanal, Meritas Health North Kansas City and Club W’s medical director, presented on the health benefits of practicing mindfulness, meditation and deep breathing in a Yoga & Your Health event.
Dr. Qamar, The University of Kansas Cancer Center at North Kansas City Hospital, presented SBRT: Treating Prostate Cancer at an NKCH Lunch and Learn. He discussed stereotactic body radiation therapy, or SBRT, which targets prostate cancer in a way that’s safer and faster than traditional radiation therapy. The hospital offers SBRT through its partnership with The University of Kansas Cancer Center.
