NorthCare Hospice
“There Is a Difference.” That’s our motto at NorthCare Hospice, an affiliate of North Kansas City Hospital.
Here, life isn’t measured in years but in days or weeks. We make a
difference by bringing care to the patient in the home, apartment or
nursing home. Our support services bring together nurses, social
workers, chaplains, therapists and aides.
We offer several unique programs. Our Cardiac Hospice program for
patients with advanced-stage heart disease was one of the first in the
U.S. And our specialized program for ALS patients (Lou Gehrig’s Disease)
is one of the few in Kansas City.
But we don’t stop there. We also offer humor therapy, massage therapy,
music therapy, pet therapy and Lifetime Legacies, a program that helps
hospice patients record life memories on video.
Medicare coverage under Part A includes Medicare Hospice Benefit. In
both Missouri and Kansas, hospice care is a covered Medicaid benefit. In
addition, most private insurance plans include hospice visits.
