Occupational Health
As a businessperson, you know that workplace injuries can mean a hefty price tag with the temporary absence of productive employees and costs for Workers’ Compensation. You also know the value of injury prevention.
That’s where we come in. At North Kansas City Hospital, we make it our business to understand the unique needs of employers and the necessity for a healthy workforce. Our Occupational Health program is designed to help you meet regulatory requirements, assess the health of your workforce, and address unexpected emergencies.
Emergency Department
When emergencies arise, North Kansas City Hospital’s Emergency Department is a Level II Trauma Center and second to none. Our highly trained staff of physicians and nurses understand the need for treatment and immediate follow up in a clinic setting, if appropriate, to return the employee back to work in a timely fashion.
The staff also understands the importance of clear communication with company representatives. That’s why our Occupational Health staff keeps in contact with your company representatives. On the next business day following an injured employee’s visit to the Emergency Department, your company representative is called and given an update on the status of the worker’s injuries.
After Hours’ Care
For those times when your occupational clinic is closed and you need health care or testing for your employees, North Kansas City Hospital is here to assist you. The After Hours’ Care through our Emergency Department features an accredited lab that tests for drug and alcohol (breath and blood) – periodic, random, for-cause, post-accident, return-to-duty and follow-up testing. Once a screening is complete, results are phoned within 24 hours, unless a non-negative result is received. These results may take 48-72 hours before a report can be made.
