Our Trauma Care Team
At North Kansas City Hospital’s Level II Trauma Center, a multidisciplinary team of specially trained trauma professionals is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to care for critically injured patients.
Lifesaving Care Team
Our trauma care begins with EMS response in the field. We work closely with our EMS partners to begin trauma care even before a patient reaches the Hospital. When a patient is en route to the Hospital, trauma-trained staff from multiple departments mobilize with the Emergency Department staff to provide fast assessment and the necessary medical care upon the patient’s arrival.
Our trauma responders include:
- Emergency physicians and staff
- Trauma surgeons from various specialties
- Operating Room charge nurse
- Intensive Care Unit charge nurse
- Respiratory therapist
- Blood bank staff
- X-ray and CT technicians
- Clinical nurse managers
- Trauma services staff
- Security personnel
This team of experts delivers comprehensive trauma care from treating the injury through intensive care and rehabilitation phases of treatment as needed. We also work to help you avoid traumatic injury. Learn from our experience on how to prevent trauma.
