What to Bring?

Experienced moms know what to bring to the hospital. We took the time to ask them and here’s what they shared with us. Print out this checklist.

FOR MOM

  • Lip balm
  • Focal point (picture, photo or stuffed animal)
  • Warm socks
  • Hairbrush
  • Pillows
  • Camera
  • Reading material
  • List of phone numbers of family and friends
  • Instant energy food for support person (granola bars, fruit)
  • CDs/CD player
  • Nightgowns (1 or 2) – should open easily in the front if breast-feeding
  • Robe
  • Slippers
  • Underwear
  • Sanitary pads
  • Cosmetics and toiletries – especially shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash
  • Clothing that fit when you were 4-5 months pregnant will be the most comfortable for the trip home
FOR NEW BABY 
  • Car seat
  • Going-home outfit, including a diaper
  • Receiving blanket
  • Sweater and cap, depending on the weather
  • Heavier outer blanket, depending on the weather
