NKCH Receives 2016 Most Wired Award

Most Wired 2016The American Hospital Association’s Health Forum and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) presented North Kansas City Hospital with the 2016 Most Wired Hospital award for the second year in a row. This year’s award focuses on advancements made in the areas of IT implementation, social media and population health.

“North Kansas City Hospital is integrating our home health clinical data with our acute EMR system to provide quality content to our care providers across venues and locations,” said Todd Beardman, MD, chief medical information officer at North Kansas City Hospital. “We are expanding our Health Information Exchange platform and working to increase the clinical content of this community view. In addition, our direct connections with local facilities ensure maximum exchange of information. We continue to engage with our ambulatory EMR vendor to promote interoperability on behalf of the patients we serve.”

North Kansas City Hospital is one of 12 hospitals in Missouri recognized for its broad level of information technology that enhances quality of care, improves patient safety and promotes better care coordination.

Hospitals and health systems are identified through the 18th annual HealthCare’s Most Wired survey based on how information technology is improving healthcare in the areas of infrastructure, business and administrative management, quality and safety and clinical integration.
