Dr. Kimmell provides all aspects of neurosurgical care, including surgery for brain and pituitary tumors. He also possesses expertise in the surgical treatment of degenerative diseases and traumatic injuries of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions of the spine, including herniated discs and spinal stenosis (narrowing of spaces within the spine).

Kristopher T. Kimmell, MD“When I consider treatment options, my philosophy of care is to think of my patients as if they are my family members,” Dr. Kimmell said. “The thought of going to a neurosurgeon can be overwhelming for people, so I want to make them as comfortable as possible, whether it’s seeing them in my office or the emergency room.”

Dr. Kimmell joins Dr. Stephen L. Reintjes at Meritas Health Neurosurgery, which is located at 2750 Clay Edwards Dr., on the campus of North Kansas City Hospital. “Dr. Kimmell’s excellent training and expertise will broaden Meritas Health Neurosurgery’s spectrum of neurosurgical care,” Dr. Reintjes said, “Together, he and I look forward to continuing the tradition of providing excellent patient care.”
