North Kansas City Hospital Named to 2018 ABILITY HomeCare Elite Top 500

HomeCare Elite Top 500 logoFor the third year, North Kansas City Hospital’s Home Health Department has been named to the HomeCare Elite Top 500 in the United States.

The HomeCare Elite honor recognizes the top 25% of all Medicare-certified home health care agencies based on performance measures. Those include quality of care, quality improvement, patient experience, best practices implementation and financial management. Of this 25% percent, only 5.6% received Top 500 honors.

Cheryl Foster, director of Home Health at NKCH, commends the agency’s staff for their commitment to quality care. "We are very fortunate to have a great team of dedicated, caring, compassionate people,” Foster said. “They work together to achieve the highest possible outcomes for the patients they serve. This honor could not be achieved without the contributions of each of these team members.”

To be considered to the HomeCare Elite, an agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least three outcome measures in Home Health Compare – a program created by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to provide the public with information about the quality of care provided by Medicare-certified home health agencies. Of the 8,898 agencies considered, 2,223 were recognized in 2018.

The ranking is developed by ABILITY Network, a leading information technology company that helps providers and payers simplify the administrative and clinical complexities of healthcare. It is sponsored by DecisionHealth, publisher of Home Health Line and the Complete Home Health ICD-10-CM Diagnosis Coding Manual.
