Student Programs

North Kansas City Hospital believes in investing in programs that support and encourage students interested in a career in healthcare.

Graduate Nurse Residency Program

For nurses at the start of their careers, we offer an exceptional combination of individual guidance and professional training programs. Our Graduate Nurse Residency Program combines classroom and hands-on experience with feedback and support from preceptors, clinical education specialists and nurse directors.

Northland CAPS

We partner with the Northland school districts as the premier healthcare partner with the Northland CAPS program. The CAPS program offers hands-on experience to high school students interested in careers in healthcare.

Pharmacy Residency Program

Our Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency program prepares pharmacy school graduates for professional practice or a PGY-2 program.

School-to-Career Programs

Our multifaceted program meets the varying needs of high school students who may be looking for a rewarding volunteer experience or who are aspiring physicians and healthcare professionals. This program provides a behind-the-scenes look at a full-service hospital.

School of Medical Laboratory Science

This 46-week clinical program acquaints students with the instruments, procedures and clinical experiences found in a hospital laboratory. Upon program completion, students are eligible to take the national registry exam to become certified clinical/medical laboratory scientists. The program allows students to complete their college senior year of instruction at NKCH.
