Types of Inflammation

Acute (short term): Sets in quickly and goes away in a few hours or days; symptoms can include swelling, soreness and/or redness; examples: bee sting, sore throat, paper cut

Chronic (long term): Can last for months or years and lead to rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease and Type 2 diabetes; symptoms may include chronic pain, weight gain and fatigue
