Children's Learning Center

The Children’s Learning Center at North Kansas City Hospital provides a safe, nurturing, fun and educational environment for children of NKCH and Meritas Health employees.

Licensed by the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services, Section for Child Care Regulation, we partner with you to make sure your child is in the safest environment with plenty of opportunities for growth.

Our curriculum supports each child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development through hands-on, creative play. Classroom teachers encourage children to explore and learn at their own pace, and they plan exciting activities to meet individual goals.

Our preschool and prekindergarten lead teachers hold bachelor's degrees in Human Development or Early Childhood Education. They receive training in the Desired Results Developmental Profile, the current assessment tool recommended by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Our educational programs meet the needs of infants and children from 6 weeks through pre-K (ages 5-6). Placement is based on classroom openings and the waiting list order. We give children of NKCH and Meritas Health employees first priority, followed by grandchildren of employees.

To begin the enrollment process, visit the Center and complete a waiting list application. You can also print an application. Because of high demand, we encourage parents to apply for placement as early as possible.

We offer flexible scheduling and competitive tuition rates. Please request our most current rates when you submit your waiting list application.

Tuition includes:
• Breakfast, lunch and dinner meals
• Baby cereal and jar food
• Diapers and wipes

We are open Monday-Friday, 5:45 a.m.-8 p.m.

We are closed on the six hospital-observed holidays.
