New Partnership With ESH

Excelsior Springs HospitalNorth Kansas City Hospital and Excelsior Springs Hospital entered into a new management agreement July 1. Under the terms of the updated agreement, North Kansas City Hospital provides operational oversight to Excelsior Springs Hospital through the employment of current CEO Sally Nance, who has held the position for 24 years. Additionally, the agreement provides ESH access to various management support from NKCH, such as information technology and clinical training. ESH remains financially independent and will compensate NKCH for all services and salaries. All other ESH employees will continue to be employed by ESH.

“The partnership means that our community will have seamless, local access to North Kansas City Hospital’s extensive network of specialists and services, in addition to financial and operational expertise,” says Sally Nance.

“The management agreement will build on the existing relationship and synergies between the hospitals,” says NKCH President and CEO Peggy Schmitt. “A strategic alliance between our two strong, independent hospitals promotes health and improves the availability of health services in our communities.” Peggy will attend ESH Board meetings and participate as an ex-officio member of the Board.
