Robert Wright, MD Wins Gold in U.S. Masters Swimming

Robert Wright, MDRobert Wright, MD, anesthesiologist with Northland Anesthesiology Inc. recently competed in the US Masters for Swimming, where he walked away with 4 gold and 1 bronze medal.

Dr. Wright swam competitively in high school and college but family life and career curtailed swimming for a number of years. Once an empty nester, he decided to take it back up to keep his mind and body healthy. He swims recreationally 2-3 times per week, working out for 1.5 hours each session. In 2007 when a friend told him about the U.S. Masters Swimming program for adults, he decided to start competing again. When preparing for a meet, he works out 4-5 times per week. His wife, Debbie, cheers him on at his matches.
