North Kansas City Hospital welcomed Scott Poague to the newly-created position of vice president of Supply Chain Services. Poague joined the leadership team in March 2020, bringing 30 years of supply chain leadership, value analysis and department transformation experience. He oversees Purchasing, Central Services, Storeroom and Logistics, the Print Shop and Value Analysis.
“More than ever, the hospital relies on Supply Chain Services,” said Stephen Reintjes Sr., MD, president and chief executive officer of NKCH and Meritas Health. “Since the initial outbreak of the pandemic, the hospital’s strategic sourcing approach has enabled us to keep employees and patients safe by consistently providing much-needed supplies.”
Previously called the Purchasing department, NKCH changed the department’s name to Supply Chain Services shortly before Poague took the department’s helm. “The name change aligns with national industry standards,” Poague said. “More importantly, it reflects the hospital’s commitment to enhancing quality and efficiencies in the products and services we deliver to patients, employees and the community.”
Prior to joining NKCH, Poague held leadership positions at Truman Medical Center and Mosaic Life Care. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of Colorado.
