NKCH Announces New Medical Staff President

Joseph B. Eisenach, MD, a gastroenterologist with Consultants in Gastroenterology, was named North Kansas City Hospital’s medical staff president. Succeeding Gerald Y. Park, MD, a urologist with Kansas City Urology Care, he began his one-year term July 1, 2020.
As Medical Staff president, Dr. Eisenach chairs the Medical Executive Committee, provides leadership to his colleagues, and acts as a liaison between the medical staff and the hospital’s administration.
“Dr. Eisenach has held various leadership roles over his more than 25 years with NKCH,” said James L. Stewart, MD, CHCQM, chief medical officer. “With a shared commitment to remarkable patient care, he was a natural fit for this role.”
Dr. Eisenach previously served as chair of the Department of Medicine, Medical Records Committee and Medicine Advisory Committee. He has also been a member of the CME Advisory, Infection Control, Physicians Health and Surgery Advisory committees.
Board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Eisenach earned his medical degree from the University of Nebraska. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Nebraska Hospitals and gastroenterology/ hepatology fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Past awards include a National Institutes of Health training grant and an ASGE research award.
