North Kansas City Hospital earned Level II Stroke Center designation from the Missouri Time Critical Diagnosis System.
In partnership with the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services, the TCD connects critical members of the stroke treatment team to help establish coordinated and consistent care. With the goal of delivering quicker response times, designated Stroke Centers provide a foundation for improved patient recoveries and outcomes.
“Because strokes are the leading cause of serious long-term disability in adults, we’ve always prioritized stroke care excellence,” said Kerri Jenkins, senior vice president and chief operating officer. “Becoming a Level II stroke facility reflects our ongoing commitment to this crucial component of patient care and providing quality, safe treatment.”
To ensure stroke team members maintain their stroke skills, Level II Stroke Centers must manage sufficient numbers of stroke patients.
By obtaining this voluntary stroke center designation, NKCH further expands its spectrum of critical care services, which includes an accredited Chest Pain Center, Level I STEMI Center, Level II Trauma Center and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
