Dr. Montoya is a great listener. He explains everything clearly and is very easy to talk to. He is efficient and knowledgeable but never rushes appointments. He takes time to answer questions.

I think it’s time for a new doctor!!! One that actually has an idea of what’s happening to me and what my condition really is. I walked in using a cane and barely able to walk. He seemed to be unknowingly of my condition and didn’t really seem to care or even be concerned. His main concern was that I had see him once a year so he could prescribe my medicine. In fact I made my appointment at his request since the last 2 appointments were canceled by his office and the 6 month follow up for an emergency room visit just seemed to fall off the schedule even though I still had the appointment card. I felt that he didn’t even have a clue or concern about me whatsoever. It appears that his sole function is the gatekeeper for the insurance company. He should have been aware of my condition considering the nurse practitioner in his office did all of my follow up’s and annual Wellness Check, and by the way she was totally knowledgeable of what was happening to me and was the first person to even give me some relief and help.

I went in to speak to Dr. Montoya about a potential medication. He not only laid out the pros and cons of that med, but also offered an alternative. He then checked if either of those potential new meds would be harmful if taken with my existing medications. He is easy to talk to and I left feeling I had all of the information I needed to make an informed decision.

We switched to Dr Montoya when Encompass Medical closed their Northland office. Dr Montoya listens very well to our issues and concerns. We have never felt rushed and we've been impressed with his thoroughness. We've never waited more than 10 minutes to be called back from the waiting room. He is not afraid to refer us to a specialist if needed. All in all, compared to previous medical providers, I would give him 5 stars(5 being the highest). *****

Had my yearly check up visit with Dr Montoya last Friday. He was very pleasant and easy to talk to. Once we got everything figured out I went down the hallway to get my blood work which is very convenient and then I check out at the front desk. All in a timely manner.

I go could go on, but overall, he was great, and I plan on keeping him as my primary.

Dr Montoya has been one of the best primary care docs I've had in a while. He listens to what your concerns are and ask you how the treatment plan sounds. He's not one to jump to opioid or barbiturate treatment and has worked well with what my cardiologist is doing for treatment. Have no issue bringing up more personal stuff and never feel judged.

Dr. Montoya became my PCP after moving from TX to KCMO in summer of 2020. I've been seeing him now for a year and a half and I am very pleased. His memory is great, he is always friendly and personable. He seems to be very knowledgeable and explains things in a way that is easily understood. He keeps up with your ER visits and will call to check on you after, as well as calling you personally to discuss lab results. I feel very confident in having him as my PCP.
Dr. John Campobasso has been our family physician since 1997. It was a sad day when I learned he was no longer seeing patients. But we pleased with our overall Meritas Health experience, so I decided to make the appointment for my annual wellness exam with Dr. Montoya. I found him to be friendly and cheerful, and he made sure he addressed all of my concerns. When I expressed my preference to avoid medications, he demonstrated respect for my preference. I will miss Dr. John, and have high hopes for a smooth transition to Dr. Montoya as my new primary care physician.
I was used to an older old fashion type doctor. since my first visit and found that he is close to my age, I felt comfortable around him felt like being around your own brother. We clicked well and was not embarrassed or shy for the first time. I think he is the best fit for a doctor for me. Heis one that you will have no problem opening up to.
