I am very pleased that I changed my PCP to Dr Goodwin. I had a very good first meeting with her. She went over all my issues with me and I didn’t feel rushed at all. She even wants to get more of my medical records and had me sign the paperwork for them. Very happy with this office. The receptionists are very nice and friendly.
Thank you, Dr. Goodwin and staff for getting me in to be seen. I was sick with a virus and was scheduled to fly in about five days. She checked me over and prescribed medication to help clear up my lungs. Thanks to her. I’ll be able to enjoy my trip.

I'm a 55-year-old woman searching for a new primary care physician as my previous primary physician recently retired. During my first visit with Dr. Goodwin, I had a generally positive experience, but I became concerned when she suggested starting a new medication instead of continuing with the one that had been effective for me for 13 years. I was hesitant but willing to try her suggested medication. In a telehealth appointment, I expressed that the medication she recommended made me feel extremely anxious and jittery, and I didn't want to experiment with new drugs. I requested to stay on the medication that had been working well for me for 13 years. Unfortunately, I felt dismissed and as if I was being judged for wanting to stick with the non-addictive medication what I know works. Instead, I was told to cut the new medication that makes me anxious in half and give it another try. I'm too old and do not have time to be a guinea pig trying different medications. As a result, I'm looking for a physician who listens and makes me feel comfortable, rather than feeling old, judged, and unheard. My opinion is she probably prefers younger patients without pre-existing conditions.

First, let me say that the staff is amazing. Always friendly and willing to help. I was seeking a Doctor Who thought outside the box and I must tell you I found one. It’s really nice to find a Doctor Who will sit with you unhurried, and willing to talk about things other than pharmaceuticals. Yes, she is up on pharmaceuticals, but she is also open minded to discuss other alternatives and I think that’s what Doctors of Osteopathy do. My experience with the whole Meritas clinic in Smithville is very positive and would highly recommend them

When my last primary care provider moved out of the area, I was never able to find another provider that I felt as comfortable with - Dr Goodwin takes the time to listen to your concerns and works as a partner in making your health care decisions with you. She is very personable and caring - she has even made my husband feel comfortable with going to doctor appointments - he has always hated going to the doctor until now.
