Kansas City Business Journal Honors NKCH and MH with Healthiest Employer Award
March 3, 2025
The Kansas City Business Journal recognized North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health with the Healthiest Employer Award 2025 for the first time. The award highlights Kansas City-area organizations that are dedicated to promoting health and well-being in the workplace.
This achievement shows the ongoing commitment of the NKCH and MH Wellness Program, which continually evolves by actively listening and supporting employees through a reward system for every step of the way on their journey to better health. The Wellness Program inspires sustainable habits for mental well-being, physical endurance, nutrition and overall health. It offers support through a trackable online portal, an on-site fitness center, and regular wellness events and challenges. NKCH and MH’s culture encourages more than 4,700 employees to take small, manageable steps, leading to significant positive changes.
“As we build a healthier and stronger community, our success is driven by a team committed to wellness,” said Dawn Bryant, Vice President of Human Resources. “We are honored to receive this award as we strive to provide our employees with everything they need to lead healthy lives.”
Data and research company, Healthiest Employers LLC, leverages an online assessment tool powered by the Springbuk Health analytics engine to evaluate organizations’ wellness programs. Scores are based on several aspects, including the organization’s culture and leadership, commitment to wellness, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing efforts, programming and interventions, and reporting and analysis.
The honorees will gather at Fiorella’s Event Space on March 28 for an award ceremony and wellness discussion panel hosted by the Kansas City Business Journal and its partner, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City.
